Assistant Planner

Location: Stevenage

Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a a long-standing architecture and planning consultancy in their search for an assistant planner. They are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Assistant Planner to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the planning team in delivering a wide range of planning projects across East Anglia, London, and the M1 Corridor. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong interest in town planning and a desire to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and submitting planning applications
Conduct research and analysis to support planning projects
Liaise with stakeholders including local authorities, developers, and community groups
Contribute to the preparation of planning reports and documents
Assist in conducting site visits and assessments

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or related field
Understanding of planning legislation and policies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proficiency in relevant planning software and tools

Day-to-day

Collaborate with the planning team to develop innovative and sustainable planning solutions
Engage with local communities and stakeholders to ensure inclusive and diverse input in planning processes
Support the implementation of environmentally friendly and socially responsible development projects
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through continued learning and professional development
