Overview

One of our educational clients are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Facilities Supervisor to join its Facilities team. This role plays a key part in supporting the non-teaching operations of the school, ensuring a safe, well-maintained and efficient environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Purpose of the Role

The Facilities Supervisor will assist the wider Facilities team by overseeing daily operational functions, including:

  • Supervising cleaning and security contracts
  • Coordinating general repairs and maintenance
  • Managing school keepers, reception staff, and related operational functions
  • Supporting and promoting health, safety, and wellbeing across the school community

This is a hands-on position requiring a proactive approach to maintaining high facility standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth delivery of all facilities and operational services
  • Support and supervise contracted and in-house staff
  • Assist with repairs, maintenance tasks, and day-to-day site operations
  • Promote a positive team culture, especially during busy periods or staff absences
  • Work flexibly to cover various shift patterns and responsibilities across the department
  • Maintain health & safety compliance and uphold wellbeing standards for all users of the site

Person Specification

  • A recognised NVQ in Maintenance Operations/Property Management or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Dire and Health and Safety regulations
  • Proficiency in Security Systems
  • Proven experience in a similar role supervising a team of facilities staff
  • Proven ability overseeing budgets
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • A recognised Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH certificate
