Combustion Engineer

SALARY: £30000 - £37000/annum

We are currently recruiting for Mobile Combustion Engineer to be based in the Midlands

Working hours 8:00 - 17:00

Job Purpose:

To carry out install, service and breakdown reactive works on commercial boiler plant and domestic boilers in commercial settings within the contract area mobile based.

Principal Accountabilities:

To carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of plant, equipment and commercial service supplies including:

* HVAC Plant and all associated Equipment,

* Domestic and Commercial Boiler maintenance,

* Undertake servicing, pre-planned maintenance and reactive calls on a variety of domestic / commercial gas/ oil appliances,

* Testing plant controls and safety devices are operating correctly,

* To carry out reactive repairs to plant and finding and repairing any gas leaks,

* Carry out minor new works installations and testing, small project works if required,

* Carry out condition based monitoring surveys.

To liaise with the gas supervisor / service manager relating to any operational issues,

To undertake all duties in a safe, tidy and responsible manner in accordance with Health Safety requirements.

To ensure that spares and materials are used in a cost-effective manner.

To obey client and EMCOR site rules and to maintain a high standard of discipline at all times.

To complete site work order documentation to required site standards.

To carry out other duties that may be reasonably requested from time to time by EMCOR and client management.

Building management Systems

Qualifications and Experience:

* ACS gas and OFTEC qualifications elements: CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, HTR1, CODNCO1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TCPC1

* NVQ or equivalent gas or plumbing qualification (Level 3 NVQ in Domestic Natural Gas Installation and Maintenance),

* Domestic / Commercial Gas - Oil and LPG experience a plus,

* Gas catering or refrigeration experience as a plus, or willing to be upskilled,

* Experience on a range of commercial boiler plant and domestic boilers in commercial settings,

* Carrying out relevant installations, repairs and servicing in occupied and unoccupied properties,

* Knowledge of all aspects of mechanical services,

* Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills,

* Solid background within a similar role.

* Knowledge of Permit to Work System.

* Undertaken relevant Health and Safety Training.

* Some Knowledge of Building Management Systems would be an advantage.

Other factors:

To work reasonable overtime as and when required

Requires participation in an on-call roster. The frequency of this rota may change with reasonable notice being given to the employee

Smart, presentable appearance and approachable,

Perform other reasonable duties as agreed with EMCOR management.

Ensure that all plant and systems are maintained and operated in order to provide maximum efficiency, availability and reliability.

Carry out remedial and/or refurbishment works arising from breakdown or maintenance inspections.

Respond to reactive maintenance/breakdown calls for the helpdesk and carrying out remedial work as necessary, providing feedback information to customer and helpdesk as required.

Literate and numerate

Flexible and adaptable with other trades

A team player with the ability to work from their own initiative

Willingness to learn new skills and embrace procedures

Flexible approach to working hours

Prepared to work to variable weekly hours based on 40 hours per week

Experience of working on a large industrial sites,

Be able to work at heights

Full, clean valid driving licence

Person Specification:

NVQ or equivalent gas or plumbing qualification (Level 3 NVQ in Domestic Natural Gas Installation and Maintenance),

Domestic / Commercial Gas - Oil and LPG experience a plus

The ideal candidate will have the relevant CG, BTEC level 3, ONC/OND or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical discipline,

The candidate will be qualified and/or trained in other building service disciplines including HVCA and will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in a building service environment.

The candidate will be articulate, numerate and IT literate.

Understanding of legislative compliance and contract law preferred.

Being commercially aware puts the candidate at an advantage.

Good all round knowledge of Facility Management and Building Services Engineering.

The ability to establish, implement and monitor high standards of excellence in areas of quality, safety and operational performance.

Must be able to demonstrate a full and thorough understanding of operational health safety.

Have good decision-making and communications skills.

Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, suppliers and customers at all levels
