Job Description and Responsibilities:

Coherent Scotland is based at the West of Scotland Science Park in Glasgow and is a subsidiary of Coherent Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of laser products. We are housed in a purpose built facility with research and development, manufacturing and marketing all on one site, which we are currently expanding.

Duties and Responsibilities Kitting and assembly of complex mechanical parts. Population of sub-assemblies with electronic or optical elements. Cleaning of parts/assemblies prior to final assembly in the cleanroom. Development/support of new processes where appropriate
Education and Work Experience: Mechanical engineering workshop skills. Scientific instrument assembly and adjusting skills. Experience in an optical or laser background. Basic IT skills including e-mail and experience of computer-based manufacturing planning Time served mechanical fitter HND desirable Cleanroom experience Excellent communication skills Ability to work as part of a team Able to work to deadlines Must be an EU citizen or have permission to work in the UK
