Salary: £75000 - £85000/annum

We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Project / Technical Solutions Manager to join a specialist water engineering firm in a permanent position. Operating on a hybrid basis (3 days in our client's East Midland's office), this position offers the chance to lead from the front in developing Pre-Concept and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) strategies for high-value, technically complex water and wastewater treatment projects.

-Competitive salary of £75,000-£85,000 (dependent on experience).

-Hybrid working model (3 days in-office per week).

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead Pre-Concept and FEED (pre-DD) phases for water/wastewater treatment projects.

-Develop and refine early technical solutions via optioneering and feasibility studies.

-Deliver engineering plans detailing scope, timelines, risks, cost, and resources.

-Collaborate across disciplines and with supply chain for innovative, buildable designs.

-Drive technical strategy aligned with sustainability, operations, and H&S standards.

-Ensure CDM and regulatory compliance from project inception.

-Bridge design, commercial, and delivery teams for smooth project transition.

-Lead internal reviews and enhance quality/processes in pre-construction stages.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

-Degree in Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).

-Demonstrated experience in early-stage project development, including Pre-Concept and FEED phases.

-Strong technical grounding in process or mechanical engineering within the water sector.

-Background in contractor-led project environments with exposure to buildability and delivery constraints.

-Ability to think strategically and develop creative, pragmatic engineering solutions.

-Proven experience incorporating health & safety and regulatory compliance into early design.

-Clear communicator and able to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable:

-Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional registration.

-Experience developing commercially innovative solutions that support business case development
