Technical Manager - Residential Development (South West London)

We are working with a leading residential developer to appoint a Technical Manager for a large-scale regeneration scheme in West London. This is a key role within an established project team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a significant phase of works on a multi-unit development.


The scheme consists of several hundred units across multiple blocks and includes a basement element. You will be joining at Phase 2, with a well-structured team already in place.

The Role
You will take responsibility for coordinating design information across the project, ensuring technical compliance, buildability and programme alignment. You will also oversee a Technical Coordinator, providing guidance and support as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the coordination of architectural and engineering design information
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure compliance and buildability
  • Liaising with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to resolve technical issues
  • Supporting the delivery of design information in line with programme requirements
  • Monitoring design progress and ensuring information is issued in a timely manner
  • Assisting with value engineering and technical problem solving
  • Managing and mentoring a junior team member

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Design Manager, Senior Design Manager, Technical Manager or Senior Technical Coordinator within residential development
  • Strong understanding of construction detailing and design coordination
  • Experience working on multi-unit residential schemes
  • Ability to manage consultants and drive design delivery
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Previous experience overseeing or mentoring junior staff would be beneficial
