Applications Engineer (Specialist Machine Tools)

Location: Coventry-based with extensive UK & European travel

Salary: £38.5k to £45k basic + Company Car + Healthcare + Pension

A leading provider of advanced machine tool solutions is expanding its engineering team and seeking an Applications Engineer to join its specialist Grinding Division. This role focuses on supporting the delivery of fully engineered, turnkey metal cutting solutions across Europe.

About the Role:

You will be a key part of the engineering delivery process for precision grinding systems, supporting customers from initial concept through to project completion. You'll plan machining strategies, create CNC programs, and oversee the attainment of first article inspection and final acceptance.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement machining strategies

CNC programming (Fanuc control knowledge preferred)

Achieve and document First Article Inspection (FAI)

Conduct machine acceptance and training for customers

Support turnkey project delivery on-site and remotely

Collaborate with European teams on high-precision projects

What We're Looking For:

A solid engineering background with at least 4 years' experience in a machine tool environment

Prior experience as a Production Engineer or CNC Setter/Operator

Strong understanding of NC programming; Fanuc control experience is highly desirable

Exposure to creep feed grinding is beneficial, but not essential

Familiarity with CAM software and machine simulation tools is advantageous

A self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively
