Job Title: Technical Architect - Azure / .NET / Public Health
Location: Leeds 1-2x/week
Rate: £600/day Inside IR35
Duration: 3 Months to begin with
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and robust systems within the public health sector. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Azure cloud architecture, C#/.NET development, and hands-on experience delivering solutions in or alongside the NHS or wider healthcare ecosystem.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping system architecture, aligning technical strategy with organisational goals, and ensuring systems meet the high standards required for healthcare environments-particularly around interoperability, scalability, and data governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical architecture design across multiple solutions and services
- Define and document high- and low-level architectures with a focus on Azure-native services
- Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering teams working in C#/.NET
- Ensure systems are secure, performant, maintainable and aligned with NHS/public sector standards
- Engage with senior stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, across public health organisations
- Contribute to procurement, vendor assessments, and technology evaluations as required
- Promote best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud operations
Tech Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect or similar senior technical leadership role
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (e.g. App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, AKS, AAD)
- Strong development background in C# / .NET Core
- Experience with cloud-native architecture patterns (e.g. microservices, event-driven design)
- Strong understanding of data governance, IG, and interoperability standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR)
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), ARM/Bicep/Terraform, and CI/CD tooling
✅ Beneficial Sector Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with or within the NHS, local authorities, or public health bodies or wider Central Government
- Understanding of NHS digital strategies, data flows, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience engaging with multi-disciplinary teams across government or healthcare settings
