Southern Education Recruitment are currently supporting a large College in Kent with their Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Lecturer vacancy. Please read below for more details on the role:
Where you'll work: This role is based at the College's Gravesend campus.
Your hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 52 weeks per annum.
Your pay: Spine Points 32 (£30,280 full time equivalent) to 37 (£35,104 full time equivalent), rising to a ceiling of Spine Point 39 (£37,251 full time equivalent) with a full teaching qualification.
Working within the College's Engineering curriculum area, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitability qualified, experienced and passionate individual to join the team as a Lecturer in Engineering.
You'll be required to prepare, teach and assess at a variety of qualification levels, providing support and guidance to your learners as they progress through their studies. You'll need to have specialist knowledge of the curriculum area, which may be enhanced by any relevant industry/ professional experience, as well as a formal qualification that underpins this knowledge. It is also desirable for you to have CAD (Computer Aided Design) experience/ qualifications.
We need you to be a team player and an excellent communicator, able to maintain a proactive approach and an eye for detail whilst working to challenging deadlines.
Teaching experience, particularly within Further Education, would be advantageous but isn't essential. Likewise, although a full teaching qualification (at Level 5 or above) isn't required at this stage, you would need to secure this within 3 years of appointment.
In return, we'll give you 42 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time contracts), and you'll be enrolled onto the Teachers' Pension Scheme which also includes life assurance.
