An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Support Worker to join a dedicated Early Help team supporting families with complex needs in Knowsley. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of whole-family interventions in line with the Early Help and Prevention Strategy and the national Supporting Families programme.
You will play a pivotal role in improving outcomes for children, young people and their families, reducing the need for high-cost statutory services through timely, effective support.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Early Help Assessments with families and lead on the development and review of SMART action plans.

Coordinate and chair Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.

Deliver direct work with children and young people, including those with SEND, ensuring the voice of the child is central to all planning.

Carry out home visits to assess needs, deliver interventions, and provide practical support.

Maintain timely, accurate and professional records, reports and plans.

Manage safeguarding concerns in accordance with local procedures and statutory requirements.

Collaborate with a wide range of professionals and agencies in a multi-agency context.

Meet service expectations, including timescales, data input and outcome monitoring.
Essential Criteria:

Proven experience working with children, young people, and families, particularly those with additional or complex needs.

Strong safeguarding knowledge and practical experience in managing risk.

Experience supporting children with SEND and their families.

Skilled in conducting Early Help Assessments and formulating SMART plans.

Confident in facilitating multi-agency meetings and liaising with professional networks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
