The Company

Seymour John is delighted to be partnering with a well-established business in Newtown, Powys. As part of their ongoing success, they are seeking a motivated Finance Assistant to become a valued member of their small, supportive finance team.

The Opportunity

Duties will include:

* Perform fixed asset accounting, including monthly P&L postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of the fixed asset register.

* Complete bank, intercompany, AR, and AP reconciliations, and support month-end reporting processes for multiple sites.

* Assist with FP&A activities such as Daystats preparation, capex forecasting, budgeting, and cost centre reviews.

* Participate in resource and project accounting initiatives, including standard cost maintenance in Oracle and operational variance reporting.

* Identify, suggest, and lead process improvements, particularly in fixed asset accounting and financial reporting efficiency.

Personal Profile

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working across multiple areas of finance. The below skills are required:

* 2-3 years' experience in an accounts role

* Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to manage data accurately; advanced Excel skills are a plus

* A meticulous approach to financial data, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, reporting, and process management

* Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload effectively, and confidence to work independently as well as in a team

* A natural problem-solver who can spot issues early, think logically, and contribute to process improvements

* Clear and professional in both written and verbal communication, able to liaise confidently with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels

* A reliable team player with a strong work ethic, able to remain calm and effective under pressure, especially during month-end close
