Children’s Residential Support Worker (Days – Long Days)

The Role

You’ll provide consistent, high-quality care and support to children with learning difficulties, promoting independence, safety and positive outcomes within a nurturing residential setting. You’ll work as part of a strong, established team with excellent staffing ratios.

What You’ll Do

  • Support children with daily routines, personal care (where required), education, activities and community access
  • Build trusted, trauma-informed relationships and implement support plans and risk assessments
  • Promote safeguarding, dignity, choice and positive behaviour support
  • Complete accurate records, reports and handovers
  • Work long-day shifts (07:45–22:00) as part of a rota (no back-to-back shifts)

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting or closely related care (learning difficulties/complex needs)
  • Driver with access to a vehicle
  • Able to commit to minimum 40 hours per week
  • Able to work 07:45–22:00 long-day shifts
  • Cannot work 2 shifts in a row (service policy)

Desirable

  • Experience with PBS/LD/ASC
  • Up-to-date training (safeguarding, medication, first aid)
