Catering Manager, Education, Peterborough, £42k Term time only

Our client is looking for a strong Catering Manager to lead the catering at this secondary school based near Peterborough. As well as core feeding for approx. 900 pupils and staff, there is a 6 form cafe and ad hoc hospitality requirements.

What you will be doing:

• Fully responsible for the running of the catering operation
• Leading, managing and developing a large team – both FOH and BOH
• Liaising with the Head of School, parents and pupils
• Managing all financial aspects including budgets, forecasts, P&L and reporting
• Menu planning and managing dietary/allergens
• Hands on in the kitchen as necessary
• Ensuring all food is to the standard expected by the school

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, term time only (42 weeks)

What we are looking for:

• A strong Catering Manager or Chef Manager
• Ideally experienced within catering for schools or B&I experience
• A good manager - able to lead and manage all team members
• Culinary experience as you will need to jump in the kitchen
• Excellent financial acumen
• Exceptionally organised with attention to detail and presentation
• Strong in communication - able to liaise with pupils, school staff and parents
• Flexible and willing with a positive, can do attitude
