Reed Education is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a school in South Lancaster. This part-time position is for 2 days per week and is available for immediate start on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a profound knowledge of the music curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fostering an engaging and vibrant learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Delivering inspiring music lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with the potential to teach KS5.
  • Preparing lesson plans and educational materials that cater to different learning abilities.
  • Employing effective classroom management strategies to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the music curriculum and educational best practices.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share teaching methods and participate in professional development.
  • Acting as a positive role model, demonstrating compassion, trustworthiness, and excellent listening skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 is essential; experience with KS5 is beneficial.
  • Strong classroom practitioner with in-depth subject knowledge and classroom management abilities.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of working effectively with students.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence in working with children.
