An established Alternative Provision in West London is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive and forward-thinking team. The provision caters for students aged 11-16 who face barriers to mainstream education and require structured, personalised support to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to students, following teacher direction and using tailored strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to promote engagement, self-regulation, and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and fellow LSAs to share best practice and contribute to consistent behaviour and learning approaches.
  • Participate in team meetings, contribute to discussions on interventions, and support the monitoring of student progress.
  • Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and safeguarding student wellbeing.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working as an LSA or support worker in a secondary SEN, PRU, or Alternative Provision setting.
  • Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Familiarity with curriculum areas such as English, PSHE, and Humanities.
  • Strong communication, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people from challenging backgrounds succeed academically and personally.
