Role Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity to join Sovereign Network Group as a Clerk of Works working within the Property Maintenance & Technical Assurance team. You'll ensure construction quality and compliance across major retrofit and planned works projects, including those funded by the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). This role combines office work, site inspections, and remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Inspection & Quality Monitoring

Conduct regular inspections of works across SHDF and Planned Works sites

Ensure works meet design specifications, building regulations, and contractual requirements

Maintain thorough records and audit trails for internal and external review

Log reports and issue non-compliance notices when necessary

Technical Support & Project Liaison

Provide on-site guidance to contractors on technical and quality standards

Support best practices in energy efficiency and sustainable construction

Work with project teams and customers to explain retrofit benefits and ensure clear communication

Continuous Improvement

Review quality control measures and recommend improvements

Use lessons learned from previous projects to influence future delivery strategies

Person Specification:

Essential:

Experience in Clerk of Works or similar quality assurance role

Strong technical understanding of construction and retrofit projects

Knowledge of SHDF programmes, energy efficiency, and sustainable design

Excellent attention to detail and report writing skills

HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Studies, Construction Management, or similar

Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel

Desirable:

Experience working within housing associations or the public sector

Knowledge of resident engagement best practices for retrofit projects
