We are currently recruiting dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistants to join our team and support care homes in the Barry and Cowbridge areas.

Job Description:

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the care home kitchen. You will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure hygiene standards are met. Your role directly contributes to the health and well-being of residents by helping provide nutritious, well-presented meals in a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation and serving of meals to residents

*

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas

*

Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment

*

Support the chef or cook with food preparation tasks as required

*

Ensure proper food storage and handling in line with food safety regulations

*

Dispose of waste appropriately and safely

*

Follow all health & safety, infection control, and food hygiene policies

*

Maintain a polite and respectful manner when interacting with care home residents and staff

Requirements:

*

Previous experience as a kitchen assistant or in a food service environment (desirable but not essential)

*

Food Hygiene Level 2 certification (preferred - we can support with training if needed)

*

Good understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards

*

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

*

Reliable, punctual, and committed

*

Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends
