About the Role: Teaching Personnel are seeking a resilient and committed Behaviour Support Assistant to work with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in the Bolton area. This role combines behaviour support within an educational setting alongside transport responsibilities, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Your vehicle will be used to transport pupils to and from their education setting, as well as for educational trips, activities, and days out, supporting engagement and access to a wider curriculum.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people who may present with challenging behaviour and require consistent, structured support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Support pupils in managing emotional regulation and behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement, attendance, and progress
  • Use your vehicle to carry out school pick-ups, drop-offs, and transport for educational trips and activities
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils during transport at all times
  • Work closely with staff to implement behaviour plans and personalised support strategies
  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
  • Willingness to use your vehicle for pupil transport including trips and activities
  • Previous experience working with SEMH, behaviour support, or in a similar setting is highly desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships and act as a positive role model
