We are pleased to announce that we are currently resourcing for Production Process Engineer for our steel fabrication client based in the Wallsend area on a projected long-term contract.

With an immediate start and likely to continue long term, subject to the clients' continuing requirements, with the potential of the role becoming permanent.

Whilst working a Dayshift 42-hour week - Monday to Thursday - 07:30hrs - 17:00hrs and Friday - 07:30hrs - 13:30hrs.

Starting salary between £45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience.

Required Qualifications

A good degree or equivalent in Production Engineering with a structural engineering bias coupled with AutoCAD use. Experience of developing and implementing shop floor production methods from engineering to final product whilst maximising facilities and ensuring cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities and Competencies

Responsible to the Production Manager and accountable to the company Director. The successful Production Process Engineer must be an effective communicator, team player, innovative with new ideas and concepts, an accountable decision maker and have a full awareness of costs, benefits, and value.

Job Purpose

* Drafting and Optimising methods from project through engineering to production
* Research new technologies to achieve greater production efficiency
* Preparation of site investments to realise future projects

Job Duties

* Work Preparation including reviewing and checking drawings, modelling and discussing with relevant departments including projects, quality, logistics and production operations the production cycle
* Completing and reviewing all aspects of lifting and rigging operations required throughout the production cycle
* Drawing up logistics floor plan including workstation locations and storage space logistics
* Prepare and maintain budgets and cost forecasts
* Prepare risk analysis method statements with HSE and production department for construction operations as required by the production plan
* Search for improvements in production including but not limited to new techniques, improved machines, new methods and aids to production from logistics, quality and internal and external transport
* Optimise the site for efficiency and associated short- and long-term improvements
