We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor & Sports Coach to join a secondary school in Barnsley on a supply basis from Easter 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and sport, who enjoys working with young people and making a positive impact both in the classroom and through physical education.

This is a varied role combining classroom supervision and sports coaching responsibilities. Duties will include:

• Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and ensuring a purposeful learning environment

• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

• Supporting the delivery of PE lessons and extracurricular sports activities

• Encouraging teamwork, participation, and positive attitudes to learning and sport

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience desirable)

• Has a strong interest or background in sport or coaching

• Is confident managing a classroom and engaging pupils

• Is flexible, professional, and approachable

• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service

• Supply work starting from Easter 2026
