Deputy Headteacher (SEMH) - Worthing, West Sussex - Full-time, permenant -  PTS.

A special educational needs school is seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join its team from September 2023, or ASAP.

The successful candidate will be working with young people who have social, emotional, and mental health needs. The young people, who range from Key Stage 2 - 4, have difficulty regulating their emotions and may exhibit challenging behaviour.

While experience with special educational needs or classroom experience is preferred, the school welcomes applicants who have experience with mental health, a keen interest in child psychology, or other settings working with children and young people such as nurseries, youth clubs, and volunteer work. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in leadership roles such as Deputy or Assistant Headteacher, or excellent experience in a SEMH teaching setting.

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher for a SEMH school in Worthing to start in September or ASAP.

The key responsibilities of the Deputy Headteacher include:

Supporting the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and management of the school

Leading on the development and implementation of the school's curriculum

Ensuring that all students receive high-quality teaching and learning experiences

Supporting the development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and training

Ensuring that all students are safe and well cared for

Leading on the development and implementation of the school's policies and procedures

The ideal candidate should have:

A proven track record of successful leadership and management in a SEMH school

Excellent communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

A passion for teaching young people with special educational needs

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
