SALARY: £28000 - £30000/annum

Atkinson Moss are currently working with an excellent organisation who are looking for a Finance Manager to join the team on a maternity contract for a minimum of 12 months. Working closely with the Company Accountant and MD you will be responsible for co-ordinating the accounts function in the business and oversees the team of accounts staff. This busy role with 4 direct reports requires the ability to manage the activities of the Accounts staff while ensuring the effective day to day running of the Accounts department

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Purchase Ledger

* Accurately interpret the ledgers in order to be able to make sound commercial decisions

* Ensure the effective running of the sales and purchase ledgers

* Ensure the ledgers are error free

* To ensure all of the sales and purchase ledger functions are covered

* To take necessary action when there are any issues and resolve within a reasonable time period

Monthly Management Accounts

* Accurately produce and deliver PL and balance sheet including;

* Balance sheet reconciliations

* Preparation and posting of accruals and prepayments

* Sales, Purchase and Nominal ledger month end journals

* Stock adjustments

* Calculation of sales and purchase rebates

* Ensure that depreciation has been calculated and posted correctly

* Interpretation and presentation of management accounts, cash flow and any other financial reports to the board.

Other Duties

* Month end procedures and ledger closures

* Oversee payment runs

* Responsibility of setting/increasing/reducing customer credit limits and bad debt recovery

* Preparation and submission of VAT returns

* Ensuring Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE and any other relevant taxes are submitted and paid on time

* Managing working capital

* Updating and analysing cash flow

* Preparation of year end accounts and liaison with external accountants

* Production and payment of dividend vouchers

* Managing the financial function in the absence of the Company Accountant and taking responsibility for the accounts department

* Assisting other departments/directors with queries to ensure that the company runs efficiently.

* Ad hock cost/other analysis as required/at the directors' request

You will be part or fully ACCA/CIMA qualified or ideally studying towards a professional qualification. Excellent IT skills are required in both Excel and Word. Please contact Lesley@ Atkinson Moss for further information
