School Caretaker

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to work on a supply basis across a Trust of schools in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and dependable individual who enjoys maintaining safe, clean, and well-functioning school environments.

The Role
As a School Caretaker, you will play an important role in ensuring the day-to-day upkeep and safety of school premises. Working across schools within the Trust, you will support site teams with essential maintenance and compliance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs around the school site

Undertaking routine health and safety checks in line with school policies

Supporting with the general upkeep and cleanliness of buildings and grounds

Assisting with site security, including opening and locking premises where required

Reporting any issues or hazards to the appropriate staff members

The Ideal Candidate

Has previous caretaking, site assistant, or maintenance experience (school experience desirable but not essential)

Is reliable, practical, and proactive with a good eye for detail

Understands the importance of health and safety procedures

Can work flexibly across multiple school sites within the Trust

Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
