Welding & Installations OperativeA market-leading engineering business renowned for delivering bespoke acoustic and mechanical solutions across the power generation, energy, and industrial sectors is looking to expand its team. With a focus on high-quality engineering, customer satisfaction, and technical excellence, the company supports projects across the UK and overseas. We are now seeking a skilled Welding&InstallationsOperativeto join our production team and contribute to the successful delivery of workshop and on-site installations.
Key Responsibilities: - Carry out welding, fabrication, plating, and mechanical installations in line with job specifications.
- Install and repair components on low- and high-pressure systems both in the workshop and on-site.
- Travel to customer sites to complete mechanical installations and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Support installation planning and proactively identify solutions to on-site mechanical challenges.
- Complete daily and weekly machinery and PPE checks, reporting issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring all health and safety policies are followed.
- Work closely with the Production Manager and site managers to meet deadlines and cost targets.
- Assist in mentoring apprentices and less experienced team members.
Requirements: - City & Guilds or equivalent welding qualification.
- Formal coded welding qualifications (MIG, TIG, MMA).
- At least 2 years’ experience in a welding, plating, or mechanical fabrication role.
- Competence working with Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and alloyed materials.
- Strong understanding of pipe layout, bending, and pressure ratings.
- CDM 2015 Awareness and ability to follow safe site practices.
- NVQ Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
- Experience working from technical drawings with minimal supervision.
- Desirable: Experience working on customer sites; ability to weld in aluminium.
