About the Role
We are urgently seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant / Finance Administrator to support a property-related project for our client. This is a hands-on role involving the setup and coordination of utility accounts, council tax, telephone, and internet services for a portfolio of leased properties, alongside supporting the finance team with supplier ledger reconciliation.
If you’re highly organised, comfortable dealing with external suppliers, and confident in Accounts Payable tasks, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a fast-paced role where you can make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
Set up utility accounts (gas, electric, water) for new property leases Arrange council tax accounts and ensure correct billing Organise telephone and internet service accounts Maintain accurate records for each property and associated suppliers Reconcile supplier ledgers and resolve discrepancies Review invoices, statements, and service confirmations Liaise with suppliers to follow up on missing or incorrect documentation Provide general administrative and financial support to the property and accounts teams

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in Accounts, Accounts Payable, or Finance Administration
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Confident working with supplier statements and ledgers
- Excellent communication skills — able to liaise with utilities, councils, and service providers
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Desirable
- Experience within property, lettings, social housing, or facilities management
- Familiarity with utility or council tax account setup processes
- Experience using accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
