Job Title: Learning support mentor (health and personal care)
Position: Part-Time and Full-Time hours available
Role type: Temporary and Permanent
Location: Cambridge
Rate: £13.50 - £15 per hour including holiday pay
Duties:
- Resource Adaptation: Modify class resources to ensure accessibility for all students, such as enlarging text and modifying language.
- Promotion of Independence: Encourage students to progress towards their educational goals and support their independence.
- Support Outside Classroom: Provide necessary support during breaks, lunches, trips, and off-campus programs.
- Health and Personal Care: Assist students with health or personal care needs to facilitate their learning.
- Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of student attendance, progression, and support provided.
- Therapy Support: Assist in the delivery of therapy interventions following professional guidance.
- Review and Assessment: Work directly with students to review their support needs and attend statutory meetings as required.
- Student Support Identification: Help identify and address students' support needs and welfare concerns.
Successful Learning support mentor will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths.
- Level 2 Learning Support Qualification or equivalent.
- Qualifications related to working with Dyslexia and Moving/Handling people.
Experience:
- Proven experience working with individuals with special educational needs.
- Experience in providing personal care.
- Background in working within educational, healthcare, or social services settings.
