International Financial Controller – Insurance Brokerage - £High bonus bens – Hybrid / Central London

The newly created post of International Financial Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial activities related to our client’s newly formed international division. This includes responsibilities of the financial close, managing receivables and payables, overseeing trust accounting, and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance. Additionally, this role will play an integral part in financial planning and forecasting needs of the enterprise.

International Financial Controller - Qualifications & requirements:

• 10+ years’ post-qualification experience in corporate accounting, preferably within the insurance sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and FCA financial regulations.
• Experience with insurance brokerage accounting practices, including premium accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.

International Financial Controller - Examples of key responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with UK/US GAAP and IFRS.
• Oversee M&A integrations and well as participate in due diligence of any other activity the company may entertain.
• Build out and oversee a staff of finance resources
• Manage and oversee the premium trust accounts with our carrier partners, paying our carriers premium owed pursuant to the contractual requirements.
• Manage the carrier, internal, and external audits as well as tax preparation work.
• Participate as required in executive meetings to report monthly financials to exec staff and establish monthly/annual budgets for each program, P&L, EBITDA margins and overall financial performance targets.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and GAAP principles.
• Provide support to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) deliverables.
