A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Ealing is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Studies to join its Humanities faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school that values intellectual curiosity, respectful discussion and academic challenge.

The successful candidate will join a supportive department committed to delivering a thought-provoking and engaging Religious Studies curriculum that encourages students to reflect on moral, ethical and philosophical issues while developing strong analytical skills.

  • Position: Teacher of Religious Studies

  • Location: Ealing, West London

  • Salary:Inner London MPS (Main Pay Scale)

  • Start Date: Easter 2026 or September 2026

  • Contract: Permanent

  • Suitable for: ECTs and experienced teachers

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Philosophy, Ethics or Religious Studies at Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

Religious Studies plays an important role within the Humanities curriculum, encouraging students to explore belief systems, ethics, philosophy and cultural understanding in an engaging and reflective environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Encourage thoughtful discussion and critical thinking in the classroom

  • Support students in developing strong analytical and essay-writing skills

  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department

  • Promote a culture of respect, curiosity and open dialogue

  • Support enrichment opportunities such as debate clubs, philosophy discussions and cultural awareness events

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be completing teacher training (ECTs welcome)

  • A strong academic background in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject

  • The ability to inspire students to engage with complex ethical and philosophical ideas

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A commitment to inclusive education and high academic standards
