Company Overview

A well-established organisation within the health and community services sector is looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of multiple sites across the region.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone practical, reliable and proactive who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in maintaining safe, well-presented environments.

The Role

Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will assist with general maintenance, refurbishment projects and routine compliance tasks across several locations. The role offers variety and the opportunity to contribute directly to maintaining high standards across operational sites.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with refurbishment projects, including painting, decorating and basic carpentry
Carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks
Support the movement and storage of furniture and equipment
Report maintenance issues and defects as they arise
Assist with routine safety and compliance checks including alarm testing and water outlet flushing
Ensure the safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH regulations
Support the team in maintaining high health & safety standards
About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience in general maintenance, facilities or building services
Has basic knowledge of trades such as plumbing, electrical or heating systems
Understands health & safety requirements within a workplace environment
Is organised, proactive and able to manage tasks independently
Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in delivering high-quality work
Communicates well with colleagues and site users
