Due to a rapid increase in demand for our client's products, they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their ambitious team.

As a growing leader in the manufacture of electrochemical sensors for life safety, commercial and industrial applications, they wish to complement their engineering team with an experienced and hands-on Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for many of our production lines and the quality of the products produced.

The ideal candidate will be qualified in a relevant mechanical/electrical engineering discipline (preferably with a mechanical bias) and will bring with them more than 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment and have the initiative to work autonomously in a small engineering dept.

They will be capable of maintaining automated production equipment, tooling and fixtures to support processes and retain availability to production, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.

Problem solving and fault-finding skills are an inherent requirement for this role as well as an ability to take ownership of issues and work collaboratively to solve them.

This role will report directly into the Engineering Manager and will also help with the development of Engineering Apprentices.

The candidate must be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally with suppliers and be able to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment within a multi-disciplinary team.

The Candidate:

Qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or a relevant Engineering discipline
>10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment as a maintenance or production support engineer
Be driven and self-motivated, someone who strives to improve
Flexible work ethic as hours may occasionally change to help cover staff shortages or demand in business needs
A hands-on approach with a practical approach to solving problems
Experience of developing and adhering to planned maintenance and calibration schedules.
Excellent communications skills
A willingness to work hard in a demanding but friendly environment where the business's success depends on everyone's input and output
Knowledge of automation, Robotics and resistance/ultrasonic welding are all advantageous
