The Senior Bid Team Lead is responsible for defining and executing high-level bid strategies to secure contracts over £1M, directly influencing business growth and competitive positioning. This role oversees bid governance, ensures alignment with business objectives, and fosters a high-performance, strategically driven bid team. The postholder will engage at a senior level with key stakeholders, including board-level executives, to shape and refine the organisation's bid pipeline, ensuring sustainable business success.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence (What You Deliver)

* Team Leadership: Oversee, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring excellence in bid execution.

* Quality Control: Enforce rigorous bid governance processes, ensuring submissions meet and exceed quality expectations.

* Workload Management: Manage and prioritise workloads across multiple, high-value tenders, maintaining efficiency and performance.

* Bid Management: Lead the development of innovative, compelling bid strategies that enhance win rates and long-term profitability.

* Continuous Improvement: Implement data-driven insights and best practices to enhance bid processes and effectiveness.

* Governance:

* Develop a structured approach to bid governance, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements.

* Lead the development of a strategic bid function that positions the business for sustained growth in contracts over £1M.

* Engage with senior leadership to align bid strategy with broader business development plans.

* Champion a culture of excellence, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across the bid function.

Key Knowledge

* Extensive expertise in bid management and public-sector tendering for contracts exceeding £1M.

* Advanced understanding of compliance, regulatory requirements, and procurement strategies.

* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to shape winning propositions aligned with financial objectives.

* In-depth knowledge of the construction, social housing, and maintenance sectors.

Key Experience

* Extensive experience managing and leading high-value, business-critical bids.

* Proven track record of shaping and implementing winning bid strategies.

* Demonstrated success in influencing executive-level stakeholders and clients.

* Experience leading bid teams in a corporate, high-growth environment.
