Job Title: Payroll Officer

Salary: £30k - £40k

About the opportunity

A market-leading student accommodation provider with over 10,600 beds across 21 UK cities is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their Central Support team in Oxfordshire. Key responsibilities

• Process new starters onto the payroll system, liaising with HR and site managers
• Update monthly site amendments after obtaining approval from Head of Operations
• Calculate holiday pay and other payments/repayments for leavers
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity
• Aid monthly payroll submissions and review preview reports
• Produce monthly journals for site payroll recharges
• Reconcile Wages Control Account, PAYE Payable, and Pensions Payable ledgers
• Assist with third-party audit enquiries and year-end payroll activities

Requirements

• Previous payroll experience
• Evidence of progress towards CIPP/ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualifications
• Strong numeracy skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Experience using Microsoft Office and accounting packages
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive approach to problem-solving
• Capable of working with minimum supervision
