Job Title: Biodiversity Consultant & Technician

Location: Bristol

Salary: Up to £35,000 (DOE) Plus Benefits, and discretionary bonus.

A well-established, independent Environmental Advisor have a new requirement for a Biodiversity Consultant & Technician. This advisory firm partners with governments, businesses, and private clients to deliver meaningful, hands-on environmental advice - playing a crucial role in bringing new infrastructure projects to life whilst protecting nature.

The purpose of this role is to deliver exceptional biodiversity advice and technical guidance to clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Engage with prospect clients to understand their biodiversity and ecological needs

* Define and scope ecological requirements for client projects

* Draft technical scopes of work and integrate them into fee proposals

* Develop and document scopes of work for ecological associates

* Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on project progress

* Review ecological survey data submitted by associates to ensure it aligns with client requirements and company standards

* Attending team briefs and meetings

* Write and review a range of ecological reports and documentation

* Site visits and occasional fieldwork as required

* Engage with stakeholders, including Natural England and local planning authority ecologists, as part of project consultation and coordination

Essential skills

* Minimum 3 years' experience in a UK-based environmental consultancy

* Membership in professional organisation (e.g. CIEEM)

* Excellent report writing and presentational skills

* Fully versed in the policy, legislation and best practice standards commonly applied within the ecology discipline

* Excellent communication skills with colleagues, clients and design teams

* A team player, offering support to colleagues to meet client expectations

* Excellent time management and ability to deliver within a deadline
