Head of Business Studies
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner by negotiation)
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (dependent on experience)

An ambitious and well-regarded secondary school in Reading is seeking to appoint a Head of Business Studies to lead and develop a successful department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Studies teacher or current middle leader looking to take the next step, with full responsibility for curriculum development, outcomes, and departmental strategy.

The Role:

* Lead and manage the Business Studies department across KS4 and KS5

* Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons with strong outcomes at GCSE and A Level

* Drive curriculum innovation and ensure alignment with exam board specifications (Edexcel/AQA desirable)

* Monitor progress, implement intervention strategies, and raise attainment

* Support and develop staff within the department

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Be an experienced Business Studies teacher with a strong track record of results

* Have leadership experience (or clear readiness to step into a Head of Department role)

* Be confident teaching Business Studies up to KS5

* Be passionate about developing a high-performing department

* Have excellent organisational and communication skills
