Location: Home working + occasional travel

Summary

Our Client, a leading software solutions provider, has established itself as a market leading technology supplier to Public Services pensions administration providers. As a result of a continued period of growth they are eager to appoint an Operations Director as a key part of the Senior Leadership Team.

The Operations Director will take on full operational responsibility for the Pensions business operations including service delivery, project management and customer support and associated P&L achievement. They will be building and leading multiskilled teams through secure software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver complex software products to time, budget and quality expectations

About the Role

The Operations Director will deliver to the business plan year on year to achieve growth and the targeted profitability of the business unit. You will work close with Sales to achieve contribution target and enable sales to the current customer base and new name customers. Other duties include;

* Ensure Service Delivery meets annual outturn with billability in line with utilisation.

* Manage the continual improvement of Operational performance and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of KPI's.

* Improve delivery efficiency of implementation services to reduce the number of days required and increase competitiveness of the Pensions solution.

* Ensure effective capacity and capability planning practices and processes are embedded across Operations.

* Manage the transition of Pensions software products from development into service delivery and support working closely with the Product Director and Development Director.

* Manage customer contracts in terms of SLA's and contractual obligations

* Ensure compliance to ISO9001 and ISO27001

* Work closely with the MD and Sales team to grow the business in line with business planning

* Carry out line management responsibilities

* Work closely with the Managing Director and sales team to grow the Pensions business in line with Business Planning.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar position, preferably gained within a software house environment and will be able to demonstrate excellent planning capabilities, both strategic and reactionary.

* 5+ years' experience in operational management / senior leadership roles, (ideally gained with a software house environment)

* Experience building and leading multiskilled teams through secure software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver complex products to time, budget and quality expectations

* P& L management experience

* Experience embedding new processes and best practice and continuous improvement

* Capacity and capability planning

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to empathise with staff, partners and their clients shaping communication style as appropriate.

* Service Delivery and Project Management experience (PRINCE2 preferred).

* Experience of building and managing customer relationships
