Your new company
We're supporting a local authority undertaking a crucial programme of work to modernise and strengthen how it manages Education‑related Section 106 (S106) data. These agreements play a key role in ensuring that new developments contribute appropriately to local education provision. With many legacy agreements requiring reconciliation and improved visibility, the organisation is investing in robust data, clear governance and better system alignment. This is an opportunity to join a team where your analytical capability directly supports financial stewardship, planning transparency, and future service delivery.

Your new role
As the Interim Education S106 Data & Systems Officer, you will be central to bringing order, accuracy and structure to a complex set of historic planning obligations. You'll review aged education‑related S106 agreements, reconcile commitments against financial records and delivery status, and ensure all information is accurately reflected across corporate systems. You'll work across MasterGov, PPM, finance tools and Power Apps to clean, validate and update data, maintaining audit trails and ensuring mitigation statuses are clearly and consistently recorded. Your work will provide essential clarity on committed, spent and unspent funds, highlight funding at risk, and support the creation of summaries that give stakeholders confidence in available balances and outstanding obligations. You'll also collaborate with Education, Finance, Planning Obligations and Legal teams to resolve gaps in the data, clarify historic allocations and support governance or audit queries. By the end of the assignment, you'll have delivered a consolidated, accurate and actionable dataset that strengthens long‑term monitoring and decision‑making.

What you'll need to succeed
You will bring strong administrative experience in a data‑intensive environment, proven experience reconciling financial or funding‑related information. Alongside advanced Excel capability and confidence working across multiple systems. Experience updating databases or case management tools, with high attention to detail and strong audit discipline. The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and resolve ambiguity. Clear communication skills and a pragmatic, solutions‑focused mindset.Furthermore, knowledge of Section 106 or planning obligations data, previous work in a local authority or education service and familiarity with Power Apps or similar low‑code platforms would be desirable.

What you'll get in return
You'll join a committed and collaborative team focused on improving the visibility, accuracy and governance of critical funding. Your work will have a direct and lasting impact on how education mitigation is monitored and delivered across the authority. This is an opportunity to apply your data expertise in a role that offers autonomy, purpose and the chance to leave behind a clean, structured and future‑ready dataset.
