The Store Manager is responsible for maintaining the store in order to ensure that all operatives can obtain materials in a "just in time" fashion to fulfil their roles.

Contacting suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery times. Negotiating and agreeing the most favorable terms possible.
Identifying potential suppliers and new products.
Hold Regular "Supplier Evaluation" meetings.
Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials.
Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials.
Providing advice to the "project estimator" on the predicted cost of individual items.
Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided.
Liaising closely with accounts reference any issues with suppliers.
Matching up delivery notes with Invoices.
Ensuring all staff compliant with the requirements of using "Purchase Order Numbers" for all orders.
Preparing and maintaining job costing reports in order to maximise efficiency within the business.
Maintaining purchasing records of materials to assist in the creation of O&M Manuals.
Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well‐organised store.
Develop systems to improve efficiency across all areas of material allocation.

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of plumbing & Heating material - a must
Knowledge of building materials - ideally
Store Management and Administration Skills - a must
Stock Control - a must
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Microsoft word and excel experience
