Pay: £18,732 - £20,293 per annum

Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm | Full-time | Term Time Only

Are you experienced in supporting children with special educational needs and looking for a new opportunity?

Long Term Futures are working with a specialist independent school in Newark that supports pupils aged 4-16 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated needs. The school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and work flexibly across all age groups.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about SEN, confident managing a range of needs and behaviours and looking to progress into a permanent role within the school.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students across a range of subjects and developmental stages
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and learning interventions under teacher guidance
  • Provide 1:1 and small group targeted support
  • Assist with handwriting, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
  • Record daily evidence of engagement and progress
  • Promote inclusion and positive behaviour strategies
  • Provide personal care where needed and promote pupil independence

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is essential
  • A Level 3 TA qualification or Level 3 in Child Development is highly desirable
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour and communication
  • An enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)
