A friendly, dynamic and growing SME dedicated to engineering requires an Interim Project Accountant on an ongoing basis to join the team as soon as possible.

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Qualified Accountant who will be responsible for not only the traditional financial controller duties, the successful candidate will also lead critical projects, including the selection and implementation of a new ERP system and enhancing of the financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely information and reports to the senior management team.
• Lead the selection and implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring it meets the company's needs and integrates smoothly with existing processes.
• Improve and streamline financial reporting systems and procedures to provide better insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
• Liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth

Requirements:

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a similar financial controller role, preferably within an SME environment.
• Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading ERP implementations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
