About the Role

Unify Renewables is proud to be working with a well-established and forward-thinking renewable energy company delivering commercial-scale solutions across Solar, Battery Storage (BESS), Wind, and Transmission. Our client is seeking a Design Manager to lead their design function and drive technical excellence across a diverse portfolio of clean energy projects.

This is a key leadership role for an experienced electrical design professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing

* Lead and manage design programmes across Solar, BESS, Wind, and Civils projects

* Oversee all stages of design — from concept and tender through to final delivery

* Provide leadership to a growing team of designers and contractors

* Ensure compliance with client specs, safety standards, and statutory requirements

* Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Operations, Technical, Sales, and Construction

* Own commercial aspects of design delivery, ensuring value and quality

* Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design processes and systems

* Champion a “Right First Time” culture and support professional development across the team

What You'll Bring

* Electrical engineering/design background with 18th Edition qualification

* Proven experience in Solar and BESS design at commercial scale

* Strong working knowledge of PVsyst, PVcase, AutoCAD and other design tools

* Ability to manage complex programmes of work and lead multidisciplinary teams

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

* A proactive mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions

* Civil engineering knowledge is a bonus, but not essential
