The Opportunity

They are looking for a commercially astute Estimator to take ownership of the costing and pricing process for a variety of commercial construction projects. You'll play a vital role in winning work through accurate and competitive tenders, while ensuring risks are identified and margins protected. This is a key commercial role that interacts closely with project management and directors.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for fit-out and refurbishment projects
Analyse drawings, specifications, and project information to produce accurate cost plans
Identify and assess project risks and value engineering opportunities
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and pricing
Participate in client meetings, pre-construction planning, and value engineering exercises
Maintain a database of rates, costs, and supplier contacts
Work closely with the Director and wider team to develop commercially competitive bids
Support handover to the delivery team post-tender
Ensure compliance with industry standards, procurement policies, and contractual obligations

What We're Looking For

Proven track record as an Estimator within commercial fit-out or refurbishment
Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
Experience working with budgets up to £1M+
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or Excel-based systems)
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
