Join our team as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, a role crucial for those passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This position is available to start immediately, offering a chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students. We are proud to be one of the selected agencies included in a prestigious multi-academy trust contract.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the educational and social development of students with special educational needs and/or social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers to tailor learning activities to the individual needs of students, ensuring effective engagement.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Provide one-to-one support and facilitate small group sessions to enhance student learning and development.
  • Monitor and support the wellbeing of students, serving as a positive role model.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as required.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEND/SEMH students.
  • Knowledge of strategies to establish a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
