This exciting opportunity to join a small, dedicated teaching team supporting long-term non-attenders could be the perfect next move for you.

About the Role:
This role offers a hands-on, varied teaching experience where you will support a small group of students, often working one-on-one or with up to five learners at a time. The focus is on delivering basic English, Maths, and some GCSE-level content, helping students regain their confidence and motivation. You will be a key player in helping young people overcome barriers to learning and behaviour, including managing challenging situations with calm and constructive approaches.

You'll also have the chance to support students on work experience placements and outdoor learning activities, broadening their horizons beyond the classroom.

What You'll Do:

Lead engaging lessons in English and Maths, with the possibility of delivering GCSE topics, including ICT

Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support, adapting to individual learning needs

Support students to overcome barriers related to attendance, learning, and behaviour

Manage challenging behaviour with patience, understanding, and consistent strategies

Assist with offsite work experience days, supporting students to build life and work skills

Encourage participation in outdoor and practical learning activities

Work flexibly and proactively within a close-knit, supportive team

Who You Are:

An experienced teaching assistant ready to step up into a more autonomous teaching role

Comfortable and confident working with young people who present challenging behaviour

Able to lead lessons in core subjects, with a willingness to develop and teach GCSE content

Adaptable, calm under pressure, and proactive in tackling a varied workload

Enthusiastic about supporting learning beyond the classroom, including outdoor and work experience activities

A reliable team player with excellent communication skills

Able to drive students offsite when required (access to a vehicle is essential)

Additional Information:

Pay: £110 - £120 per day, dependent on experience

Full-time role with an immediate start

DBS check required (cost covered by candidate)
