This position serves as a key member of the EFCO executive leadership team, responsible for providing strategic leadership and day-to-day management of EFCO’s operations, including manufacturing, scheduling, logistics, maintenance, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Formulate, recommend, and manage manufacturing methods and systems that drive competitive advantage and improve profitability of the operation.
Champion the Apogee Lean Enterprise System within EFCO business unit to successfully develop a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement across the company.
Develop sustainable methods and procedures to improve quality, minimize the cost of poor quality, and develop corrective action around customer quality concerns.
Minimize cost of production through labor efficiency, continuous improvement projects and the application of technology in manufacturing processes.
Provide accurate analysis and operations reviews and makes recommendations on key business decisions.
Oversee the execution of production schedules and manage plant capacity to meet a high level of performance with regard to customer on time delivery dates.
Drive safety results and culture through the development and implementation of effective safety awareness and training programs. Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
Manage workforce staffing and production capacity utilization to minimize labor costs, while meeting customer expectations for lead-time and delivery.
Build a high-performance Operations team through the selection, placement and development of key Operations personnel.
Oversee budget, forecast and reconciliation activities. Provide input and support efforts to develop EFCO’s Annual Operating Plan, Strategic Plan, and Management Resource Review.
Results driven and action-orientated.
Skilled at driving metrics, root cause analysis, corrective action, and accountability.
Highly competent in the ability to analyze problems and to develop sustainable solutions.
Effective cross functional collaborator capable of creating unity of purpose and action across multiple functions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to effectively connect with all levels of the organization and customer/supplier contacts.
Visible hands on presence within a 24 hour, 7 day, multiple shift structure operation.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
7+ years of experience in an executive manufacturing leadership role for a large (>1,000 employees) multi-location manufacturing operation.
Excellent knowledge and substantial record of achievement leading lean manufacturing transformations.
Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing related field.
Experience in multi-process Engineer to Order environments highly desirable.
Experience within the aluminum fenestration industry preferred.
