Role: Risk Manager

A growing organisation based in Witney are looking to add an experienced Risk Manager to their team.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To embed and maintain an effective enterprise-wide risk management framework that ensures the firm operates within its approved risk appetite, meets all relevant FCA regulatory obligations, and protects clients, assets, and the integrity of the financial system.

The Risk Manager will lead the risk oversight process, support the ICARA process, and provide independent challenge to senior management and the CISL Board.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Essential:

• Proven risk management experience within a financial services environment, e.g. wealth management or investment management.
• Risk-related professional qualification (IRM, FRM, CISI Risk in Financial Services, PRM, ICA Diploma)
• In-depth knowledge of FCA requirements, including MiFIDPRU, SYSC, and conduct risk obligations.
• Strong grasp of capital adequacy, liquidity risk, and ICARA methodology.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to manage own workload and work within a small team.
• Knowledge of business processes, standards, policies and procedures
• Excellent organisational skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ideally Intelligent Office

Desirable:

• Familiarity with CASS rules and operational resilience regulations.
• Willingness to undertake study.
• Ideally educated to degree level with a relevant industry qualification
• Applicants with substantial hands-on experience in risk management or related fields may be considered, even if they do not meet all listed essential qualifications.
