A well-established engineering and technology company is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join its growing development team.
The business designs and manufactures specialist electronic systems used in demanding real-world environments, working on technically complex products that combine electronics, embedded systems and precision hardware.
This role offers the opportunity to work across the full electronics development lifecycle, contributing to both new product development and improvements to existing systems.
The Role
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team and contribute to projects from initial design through to production and testing.
Responsibilities include:
• Electronic circuit design from system requirements
• Schematic capture and PCB layout
• Supporting PCB manufacture and supplier liaison
• Board bring-up, testing and debugging
• Working closely with firmware and systems engineers
• Supporting production and integration activities where required
The role is primarily design focused, with a typical split of approximately 75% design work and 25% testing and validation.
Technology Environment
Projects typically involve:
• Digital electronics design
• Analogue interfacing circuits
• Signal acquisition and conversion
• Power electronics and motor control
• Embedded microcontroller systems
PCB design is completed primarily using Altium Designer, although experience with other professional PCB tools such as OrCAD or KiCad is also suitable.
What They Are Looking For
The company is seeking an engineer with around 3–5 years of commercial electronics design experience.
Suitable candidates will likely have experience with:
• Schematic capture and PCB layout
• Designing electronic circuits for real-world applications
• Board bring-up and testing
• Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Experience collaborating with firmware engineers or embedded systems development is beneficial but not essential.
