My client is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Senior Project Design Engineer to join an established automation company serving the food industry. You will be designing and developing the mechanical aspects of both our standard range of machinery.

Main Duties and requirements:

* Educated to bachelors or equivalent level in an engineering or related discipline.

* Minimum 3 years' experience in project engineering, and mechanical design within special purpose machinery / Automation.

* Ability to confidently use 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks.

* Confidently design some or all aspects of capital machinery assemblies and sub-assemblies from the ground up for use in the food industry in line with company standards and current legislation.

* Liaising with suppliers in the specification of components.

* Updating BOM's and issuing drawings to suppliers for quotation.

* Report to the project manager regarding the scope and detail required.

* Maintain accurate records of all work completed and planning successful outcomes within agreed timescales and costs.

* Liaise with clients to promote our work and capabilities.

* Working with our sales team and liaising with external customers to assist with the preparation of quotations when required, including creating conceptual CAD drawings and layouts.

* Prepare technical documentation including producing machinery manuals and the technical file.

* Knowledge of safety standards would be an advantage.

* Hold a valid driving licence and passport.

Other Duties:

* Liaise with clients and suppliers as required.

* Understand the procurement system and maintain accurate bills of materials.

* Work in a responsible, tidy and safe manner at all times regardless of where the work is being completed.

* Report to the project manager and keep them informed of any critical issues that may affect the project, personnel or the company in general.

* Self-motivated and conscientious.

* Ensure continued professional development in your subject area
