The Role:
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting the emotional wellbeing, personal development, and safeguarding of the children and young people in our care. Working closely with the care team, education staff, and external professionals, you will help ensure that every young person feels valued, supported, and able to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group pastoral support to children and young people.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage personal growth and resilience.

  • Support young people with managing emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.

  • Work alongside staff to ensure effective safeguarding and wellbeing practices.

  • Act as a positive role model, promoting respect, independence, and confidence.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of tailored support plans.

  • Liaise with families, schools, and external professionals where appropriate.

About You:

  • Experience working with children and young people in a pastoral, support, or education setting.

  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A commitment to supporting the holistic development of young people.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Childcare, Youth Work, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
