We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and welcoming primary school team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with pupils in Years 3–6, supporting their academic progress, independence and personal development.

Working alongside the class teacher, you will help to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Location: BurnleyHours: £14.25 - £15 per hour Contract: Temporary MAT cover Start Date: Monday 1 June 2026  

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons across the KS2 curriculum
  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support in core subjects, including English and maths
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence in their learning
  • Assist with behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN where required
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and displays
  • Observe and monitor pupil progress and feedback to the teaching team
  • Promote children’s wellbeing, safety and positive behaviour at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience working with children in a primary school or KS2 setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Be patient, calm and enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to behaviour support
  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 TA) – desirable but not essential
