Senior Practitioner (AMHP Qualified) - Emergency Duty Service

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Practitioner (AMHP Qualified) to join our Emergency Duty Service team in Essex. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing immediate response and support to individuals and families in crisis situations. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and ensure their safety and well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including mental health crises, child protection concerns, and adult safeguarding issues.
Undertake comprehensive assessments to determine the level of risk and appropriate interventions required.
Make sound decisions and provide professional advice under pressure, ensuring the safety and welfare of individuals involved.
Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including the police, health services, and social care teams, to coordinate responses and develop effective support plans.
Assess and manage the mental health needs of individuals, ensuring appropriate mental health legislation is applied where necessary.
Provide consultation and guidance to less experienced staff members, offering support and mentoring to enhance their practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection regulations.
Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Support the team manager in service planning, performance monitoring, and quality assurance activities.
Keep abreast of legislative changes, research, and best practice in the field of mental health and emergency duty social work.
Uphold professional standards and ethical principles in all aspects of work, promoting anti-discriminatory practice and respect for diversity.

Requirements:

Qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).
Relevant Qualifications and Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body. (Social Work England)
Experience working in emergency duty social work or mental health services.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
